Established to support the growing wine industry, SOWI offers hands-on training, state-of-the-art vineyards and facilities, and expert-led courses that provide students with a comprehensive understanding of winemaking, vineyard management, and business operations. Focusing on a hands-on curriculum, SOWI combines classroom instruction with real-world experience at its student-operated commercial winery, allowing learners to craft their own wines. Umpqua Community College also fosters strong connections with local wineries who offer internships, networking opportunities, and career pathways in the booming Pacific Northwest wine industry.
